Terms for participating in competitions
The publishing house Wilhelm Fink, Imprint of Brill Deutschland GmbH (hereinafter referred to as Brill Deutschland GmbH), occasionally offers online competitions and lotteries. Participation in these competitions/lotteries is subject to the following conditions.
Organizer
The online competitions and lotteries are organized by Brill Deutschland GmbH, Wollmarktstr. 115, 33098 Paderborn, Germany.
Conditions of participation/Drawing
Participation in the competition is free of charge and does not depend on the purchase of a good or service. Only participants who have completely answered the questions of the competition or lottery and who have registered with all necessary information in the respective form will be considered for the draw. Of all entries, the lottery ticket will decide the winner, guaranteeing the principle of random selection. Only one prize is possible per participant. A cash payment or transferability of the prize to other persons is excluded. The winners will be notified in written form by Brill Deutschland GmbH. If a winner does not confirm the prize in text form (by letter, fax, e-mail) to Brill Deutschland GmbH within 21 days after notification, the claim to the prize expires and a new winner is drawn according to the same procedure. The participant is responsible for the correctness of the given address.
Eligibility
All persons over 18 years of age who are resident of Germany are eligible to participate. In order to participate in the competition/lottery, the truthful entry of the participant's personal data is required. Employees of Brill Deutschland GmbH, its affiliated companies as well as competition partners, including members of the groups mentioned above, are excluded from participation. Brill Deutschland GmbH is entitled to exclude individual persons from participation if there are legitimate reasons, e.g. violation of the conditions of participation, double participation, inadmissible influence on the competition, manipulation etc. In such cases, if necessary, winnings may be subsequently withdrawn and reclaimed.
Changes in the rules of participation and termination of the competition
Brill Deutschland GmbH reserves the right to change the conditions of participation at any time. Furthermore, Brill Deutschland GmbH reserves the right to terminate or interrupt the competition or lottery at any time for good cause without prior notice. This applies in particular to such reasons that would disturb or prevent the scheduled course of the competition or lottery. If such a termination is caused by the behaviour of a participant, Brill Deutschland GmbH is entitled to demand compensation for the damage caused by this person.
Limitation of liability
Brill Deutschland shall only be liable for damages caused by its legal representatives or vicarious agents intentionally or grossly negligent or by the violation of essential obligations within the scope of the competition/lottery (so-called cardinal obligations). Cardinal obligations are those whose fulfilment is necessary to achieve the objective of the competition /lottery. In these cases liability is limited to the foreseeable, typically occurring damage. The liability of Brill Deutschland GmbH for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health remains unaffected.
Data protection
All personal data of the participant will be stored and used exclusively for the purpose of the execution and handling of the competition/lottery. The participant is free to revoke his participation in the competition/lottery at any time. The revocation is to be addressed to: Brill Deutschland GmbH, Wollmarktstr. 115, 33098 Paderborn or to info@fink.de.
Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.
Should individual provisions of the conditions of participation be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining conditions of participation shall remain unaffected.
In the case of competitions and lotteries, legal recourse is excluded.
