Approaches to editing and commenting texts are studied. An important aspect of editions should be to provide maximum information on the material aspect of the object in question. Interpretation should be kept apart from the edition itself. While a good philological discussion has to be present, the editor should go beyond that and provide an outlay of a more global interpretation. Examples of exemplary and less perfect treatments are presented.
